GWSTEM is currently on the lookout for volunteers who are willing to help develop a community where young girls thrive. This opportunity would allow them to develop a great understanding of their community as well as increase their awareness on common social issues, such as the gender gap that is so prevalent in STEM. Although, above all, volunteers will be able to have a drastic impact on the lives of young girls!
We are looking for help with various tasks, therefore, whatever a volunteer's main source of interest or time commitment is, it is likely needed here at GWSTEM! Whether it be fundraising, community outreach, or photography, we're on the lookout. Both male and female volunteers are welcome for this role.
Mentors and workshop volunteers
Strong female role models are crucial in developing a positive STEM identity in young girls. We are looking for mentors to volunteer at our workshops by guiding girls through hands-on activities as well as speaking about your career and why you became interested in STEM. General workshop volunteer
Planning and making sure workshops unfold seamlessly is a work of many. General workshop volunteers assist before and during in workshops by doing tasks like organizing and preparing workshop materials. Whatever the task, your help during our sessions is greatly sought. GWSTEM is run on volunteers. If your time involvement is conservative, we still recommend you to apply for positions you think are beneficial to our organization. This includes positions such as photographer, site developer, content creator, writer, and so much more!
